  1. Hi I’m a chef in a small hotel near Solihull I’m interested in
Using a local forager and wonder if you or some one would be interested in having a look around my hotel grounds

  2. Hi Anne,

I was very interested in your New Years Day blog entry!

My partner would like to start living on nothing but wild foods.

He lives in the Sheffield/Derbyshire Dales area.

Do you have any recommendations for where to start foraging? Or any tips of any sort? Any help would be very gratefully received.

    Best wishes and many thanks

    Radha 🙂

    • Hi Radha

Living on nothing but wild foods is very ambitious – it can be done – it is possible, but not easy by any means… I would recommnd that he reads The Wild Life by John Lewis-Stempel in which he details his year spent on his 40 acre farm living only on wild food. Not John does not work and has his own land which is rich in wildlife. If you were going to do this you would be best to begin in autumn nature’s most abundant time.

But starting small would be good, learning what to look for – wild food can be found everywhere, wasteland in cities is often more productive than farm land. Getting a good wild food book and learning to identify plants would be the best start that anyone can make.

      Good luck and happy foraging!
